2012 Nominations
- Nominees must be one of the following:
- living residents of the State of Arizona
- a business that operates in, and for the benefit of, Arizona
- a school
- a community organization
- Previous individual recipients of the Governor’s Arts Award, in any category, are not eligible; except that previous corporate, art education (organization) or community organization, award winners may be nominated if at least five years has elapsed since receiving the award.
- A nomination should reflect activity above and beyond the normal expectations or responsibilities of an individual, business, school, or organization working in, and/or for the benefit of, the arts.
Governor’s Arts Awards’ Objectives:
- To honor those individuals or businesses who make substantial and outstanding contributions to arts and culture in Arizona.
- To elevate the public profile of the arts in the state of Arizona.
- To encourage others to achieve and sustain high standards of excellence in artistic achievement and support for the arts.
Please include each of the following in your nomination for an outstanding individual or business:
- A) The contribution the nominee has made to the development and growth of the arts in Arizona.

B) Why the individual merits the award.
- (Sections A and B will be limited to no more than 250 words)
- C) Answers to the two questions for the award category in which you are making a nomination. (This section will be limited to no more than 250 words.)
